Thank You and Update
We just want to thank you tremendously for the outpouring and support from our friends and family. It's been the joy of otherwise very dark days.
We've learned a little more about Jordan's type of leukemia. It's called pre-B cell ALL. It is the most common and most successfully cured form of leukemia. Over 90% of the patients within Jordan's age group are cured. We'll be in the hospital at least 7 days from the time chemo starts (either the 24th or 25). From there on, it will be primarily an out patient proceedure. How Jordan responds to the drugs over the next month will tell us a lot, and we'll keep you posted to his progress.

I was randomly surfing the blogs and came upon your guys one. My name is Randy and I am a volunteer with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Team In Training. I train for marathons and fundraise for the Society. Your story has definitely touched me as I meet numerous ALL patients over the years and want to let you know they are now in remission and some even officially cured. Your son and family will be in my prayers for a quick recovery. Also, if you don't mind I'd like to include your son on my honoree bracelet that I wear during my marathon training and actual marathon. It is a way to keep me motivated and to make me quit whinning when I know my honorees go thru a tougher time during treatment. My next two marathons will be in Maui on September 19, 2004 and San Francisco on October 24, 2004. I hope you have meet someone in your neighborhood (or at the hospital) from the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. It is a tremendous resource for patient services such as educational seminars, support groups, and financial aid. Check out www.lls.org for more information and for more information about myself and my marathon training go to the following url:
